Event Description

Families can hunt for eggs at the San Bernardino County Museum on Saturday, April 3, starting at 1:00 p.m. The egg hunt, designed for families with children age 12 and younger, is included with paid museum admission.
“The county museum has the fifth largest egg collection in the world,” said Jolene Redvale, the museum’s curator of education. “So in this season of egg hunts, what could be better than literally hunting for eggs at the museum – everyone is sure to find some!”
The activity will be similar to a traditional scavenger hunt that will take participants around the museum searching for answers to clues. The clues will be presented in two versions: one for families with pre-schoolers, the other for older children who want to participate “solo.” Education volunteers will be stationed around the museum to help visitors find the answers to their clues.
Visitors can hunt for eggs and complete their scavenger hunt question cards between 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. Participants return their completed cards to the museum lobby and draw a plastic egg from the Big Egg Basket. Each egg will contain surprises along with a chance to enter the Big Egg Opportunity Drawing for even more prizes, such as free family memberships, discounts on the museum’s Summer Camps, passes to the Orange Empire Railway Museum, tickets to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, restaurant certificates, and many more. The drawing will be held at 3 p.m.
Visitors of all ages can also interact with volunteers at cart talks about birds, learn to make bird flip-books, and fold origami birds. At this egg hunt, there is something for everyone.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 (adult), $6 (military or senior), $5 (student) and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org.
The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. If assistive listening devices or other auxiliary aids are needed in order to participate in museum exhibits or programs, requests should be made through Museum Visitor Services at least three business days prior to your visit. Visitor Services’ telephone number is 909-307-2669 ext. 229 or (TDD) 909-792-1462.
